I write retro fiction with a classic rock soul: stories set mostly in the 1970s and early ’80s, where the spotlight is bright, the rooms are smoky, and the real story usually starts after the show is over.

These are books for readers who want the back room, not the spotlight and groupies waiting in the wings. It’s the seedier after-hours party about what happens after the crowd leaves and the rock star myth begins to crack. It’s the consequences and cost of achieving fame and brooding six-pack abs in leather pants don’t get entry.

Some books lean romantic. Some lean literary. All of them follow musicians, lovers, friends, and survivors as they deal with fame, ambition, loyalty, regret, desire, and the cost of becoming who they thought they wanted to be.
