Hoping for Spring

We did it! Made it through another winter season. Granted, where I am, winter was one a few days of ice and a few weeks of cold wind. It’s not like when I lived up north and it felt like the frigid, gray, snow-shoveling days were never-ending.

I remember taking vacation each April and heading south. We’d go to a place just before the campers arrived and spend a week wandering around a mountain top. Each time I drove home, the leaves would be starting to come, buds were pushing up. That vibrant new green color of the leaves is my favorite color. Heading north back to the cold, dead of winter, it was a reminder to my soul that spring was actually coming.

Today, as I sit and have my coffee, looking out the balcony of my apartment, the parking lot behind the dell is slowly disappearing behind the new green of leaves, cardinals chirp back and forth in the branches, and I wonder why I waited so long to move some place that had an early spring and longer summer season?

Spring is an exciting time for me and I feel as though I come to life, too. This spring I’ve got an added excitement. After almost 5 years in the making, my fourth novel, Helplessly Hoping, will be sent out into the world. I’m in the final stages of editing and should have my ARC copies out early April.

The tentative release date is May 29th so keep an eye out for details and fun reveals as they come. You can keep on top of it by following my Instagram and Facebook pages.

Until then, keep your eye on the new life springing around you. We made it. Happy Spring!
