Anyone watch ‘Gilmore Girls?’ That episode of the Summer Festival with the band in the gazebo singing:
Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer
Those days of soda and pretzels and beer
Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer
You’ll wish that summer could always be here
That song, for some reason, is rolling around in my head this summer, but I admit it’s going a lot better that Lorelei’s and Rory’s!

Wanted to let everyone know there are some fun promotions coming up for my last two books, so stay tuned to see what I have in store for everyone!
Two exciting things happening right now, though!
- If you haven’t read Helplessly Hoping yet, you may not know that our main character, Dale, is an advocate for literacy. I was introduced to a local literacy non-profit here in Dallas recently through a co-worker and got an idea. Since Dale is an advocate, and I have a new book, I decided to give 10% of the sales between July 1st through August 31st to Readers2Leaders to support their mission of equipping students for success through the power of reading. They also have a program in partnership with the Dallas Public Library to help adults improve their reading skills and teach them English.
As an added bonus, anyone that leaves a review for Helplessly Hoping in this timeframe, I’ll donate another dollar to the cause.
So, if you’ve read my latest novel and haven’t left a review, now’s the time! I know how daunting it can be to start a book review, so I’ll give a few helpful suggestions to get you started.
It’s always helpful to describe what the book is about, a quick synopsis without giving away any big plot points or spoilers.Do you have a favorite character? If yes, what made them stand out?
What didn’t you like about the book? What could have been better/stronger?
Lastly, reviews don’t have to be, well, a book. A quick few sentences suffice so don’t put any pressure on yourself! It all helps me get the story out to the folks who need to find it. - I’m starting an official mailing list in an attempt to reach more readers. Congratulations, you’re already ahead of the game! BUT, I could use your help. If you’re friends with any readers, I’d appreciate if you’d let them know about me and my books. As an introduction, for a limited time, I’m offering a download of Helplessly Hoping for free if they sign up for my newsletter. Even better if they forward it on to their reader friends, too. And so on… and so on… and so on….
Just send them here and they can download and start reading today!
And that’s it for now! Remember to stay tuned for the upcoming fun and enjoy your summer reading!
