As 2021 comes to a close, I am simply in awe at all the crazy, incredible, exciting changes that happened in just twelve short months. I had the desire to move to a new state but had you told me in December 2020 I’d be there in six short months, I’d have laughed at you. Heck, I’d have laughed at you had you told me only a month before the move. It was a harried, unexpected but more than welcomed change!
Sometimes, change arrives unexpectedly, even if you’re anticipating a shift or waiting for it to happen, once that trigger is pulled, there’s no stopping it. Sometimes, though, it means you need to change priorities for a minute until you get your bearings, and that’s precisely what’s been happening with my writing. A new state, new job, new home, new places to explore… it’s taken a toll on my words but I believe it means I’m storing up new ideas and new experiences to incorporate for new stories down the line.
In the meantime, I’m working weekly with a fab new critique group to help me be more focused on my craft and make me use my words with more intention. It’s tightened things up, that’s for sure, and I’m thrilled to find new people who don’t look at me like I have six heads when I talk about a character like a real person!
So, I am still working on my stories. I still have some editing to do but know they are coming! I’m hoping to get a new book out to you in 2022. And who knows, maybe this time it’ll be a traditional publisher. Maybe I’ll be able to find some events and get out into the public to talk about those crazy characters with YOU like they’re a real person! I’d love to hear what you think of the characters I’ve created.
For now, I wanted to say thank you for supporting my stories and for your patience as I craft out a new story to share with you!
Wishing you all a safe, healthy, and incredibly happy holiday season!
Here’s to 2022!
